Safety Tips

In our community, the safety and well-being of our members are the top priority that we take extremely seriously.

Download Apps from Trusted Sources

Stick to official app stores: Always download shopping apps from the Google Play Store (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS) to reduce the risk of malware or counterfeit apps.

Use Strong and Unique Passwords

Ensure you use strong, unique passwords for each of your online shopping accounts. Avoid using easily guessable information like birthdays or common words.

Consider using a password manager to securely store and generate complex passwords.

Log Out After Shopping

Always log out of your shopping accounts when you're done.

Keep Your Device Secure

Install updates regularly: Make sure your phone’s operating system and apps are up-to-date with the latest security patches to protect against vulnerabilities.

Privacy

Limit what you share: Be mindful of the information you share publicly (e.g., phone number, address, birthday, location). Consider limiting personal details on your profile.

Be Careful with Personal Information

Don’t overshare: Avoid posting sensitive information like your home address, phone number, financial details, or travel plans.

Watch Out for Fake Accounts

Look for red flags: If something seems off, it might be worth blocking or reporting the account.

Report Suspicious Behavior

Report scams and harassment: If you encounter any suspicious accounts or content (e.g., fake offers, inappropriate messages, or harassment), report them.

Be Clear About Your Limits: If someone pressures you to do something you're not comfortable with, feel free to assert your boundaries or end the interaction.

Keep Track of Your Conversations

Save Important Messages: If you feel threatened or uncomfortable, save any relevant messages or screenshots that might help you if you need to report the person or take further action.

Trust Your Instincts: If a conversation or behavior starts to feel manipulative or deceitful, it's okay to cut off contact. Your safety is more important than being polite.

Choose a Public Meeting Place

Meet in Public: For your first few dates, choose a public location like a café, restaurant, or coffee shop. Avoid private or secluded areas until you know the person better.

Inform a Friend: Let a close friend or family member know where you're going, who you're meeting, and at what time. Share your location with them via phone.

Video Chats Before Meeting in Person

Verify Identity: If possible, have a video call before meeting in person. This helps ensure the person you're talking to matches their profile photos and is who they say they are.

Trust Your Instincts: If anything feels off or uncomfortable during the video chat, trust your gut. It's okay to end the conversation.

If another member has threatened, abused (verbally/physically/psychologically, etc), and/or has been violent toward you in any way, please contact your local law enforcement agency as well as report the member to us
